Accomplishments & Activities in 2017-2018

During the 2017-2018 academic year the Chicanx Latinx Campus Association (CLCA) focused on the following areas:

Staff professional development, community building, and providing advocacy on issues regarding Chicanx Latinx staff representation and matters impacting the climate of our community on and off the UCSF campus.

To increase visibility, we launched this website, developed relationships with a number of campus organizations, sponsored or co-sponsored over 10 events such as Dia de los Muertos that aimed to affirm UCSF’s values on inclusivity and receptiveness to all cultural celebrations by allowing university spaces to reflect and honor underrepresented communities, and the LinkedIn Professional Development with our mission of increasing representation of Chicanx/Latinx staff in leadership roles, providing tools, training, opportunity to network across campus and to advance careers

The 2017-2018 academic year brought big steps forward for CLCA in terms of the growth of our membership and our visibility and place on campus.

The CLCA Membership Listserv has grown to 227 members. We believe there is a great desire for members of the community to connect, feel validated, and be a part of CLCA’s efforts. CLCA was invited to become a part of the 4CI (Council on Campus Climate, Culture, and Inclusion) Committee, an important platform to where we can share our collective voice with campus leadership. We were also included in the 2018 Chancellor’s Forum on Diversity, to represent staff concerns.

To ensure representation and inclusion across the campuses, we launched this website with information about events, strategic priorities, institutional data, news, and ways to get involved.

Living the CLCA Mission & Goals

We are proud to say that over the last 24 months CLCA has been very active in making sure that we are faithful to our mission and as well as making ourselves a resource to the university in alignment with the UCSF’s Pride Values of Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence.

We have sponsored programming for thirteen events in the areas of Professional Development, Community Building, Cultural Education, and Diversity, Race, and Health Research.
